We believe that leadership is a cornerstone of successful business. It’s one of a number of things that we think must work together for that success. IQA The Institute of Quality Assurance has a valuable Human Factors Special Interest Group which brings together experts in assessing the culture within organizations. See the IQA website for general information. A lot of this is general quality-and-process material. There is also a more specific introduction to the joined-up running of a business. Also take a look at the Human Factors SIG noticeboard. The leader of the Human Factors SIG, Sue Cartwright, has a recent deal with the equivalent Irish body for their use of her Level 4 Employee Survey. Surveys such as these are powerful in measuring the whole of the ‘soft’ side of a business – including factors such as leadership and motivation.
